About the project
Youth Club of Saint George (YCSG) has successfully implemented the first virtual mobility project in Romania funded by the Erasmus + program. The pandemic caused by the coronavirus also had negative effects on the youth sector, many projects had to be canceled or revised.
The first part of the project took place in Tortoli, Italy last year, where participants discussed about the phenomenon of migration. The second part of the project was planned in Romania, but due to the pandemic it could not be implemented as planned. The organizers decided to implement the project online between December 8-19th, being the first project organized as a virtual mobility in Romania. The virtual mobility was attended by 43 participants from 9 countries.
Gruman Eva-Orsolya, president of YCSG stated: ‘The initial program was re-planned both in terms of duration and methodology respecting the chosen theme. Every day we had 3 hours full of activities using Zoom. We also used menti.com, jamboard, padlet, streamyard. We also organized an online mini-conference with our partners in which we set out to take feedback on the organization of virtual “mobility”. Although there are many other types of difficulties in organizing a virtual mobility, it can be implemented with the achievement of the proposed results. ‘
The Dream Catchers project is a youth workers mobility project, it is implemented by YCSG with the partnership of associations from Italy, UK, Hungary, Latvia, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, France and Spain. The project was funded by the European Commission and Romanian National Agency through the Erasmus + program.
